BossConstructor Download Epic Games

Updated: Mar 13, 2020

About This Game BossConstructor is a game about building and flying your own spaceship. Assemble your own ships from a number of components and explore procedurally generated galaxies!Building your ShipAt the core of the game lies the ship editor. An editor that allows you to freely assemble your very own spaceships using a vast variety of (currently) over 60 modules. The way you build your ships determines how they behave and what they are capable of doing, and, as every module costs money, weight and energy, designing a good, efficient spaceship is a challenging yet rewarding task.Expedition and Sandbox ModeThe expedition mode lets you explore a procedurally generated galaxy inhabited by the von-Neumann; a constantly evolving AI species. You begin with a small, basic ship and advance as you complete missions, discover new enemy species, and scavenge more powerful or exotic components to improve your ship with. Alternatively, you can always build any ship you like without any constraints in the sandbox mode.Artificial IntelligenceBeing a single player game, a lot of attention is being given to the game's artificial intelligence system. The von-Neumann enemies you will encounter in the expedition mode have been painstakingly created using elaborate artificial evolutions, in which vast numbers of mutating ships have competed for survival. Several bonus game modes allow you to lean back and watch just how different AI species compete with each other for survival and how each generation evolves.FAQQ: Which are the supported platforms?A: The game supports Windows, Linux, SteamOS and MacOS. Mac users do still need to manually install Java though (worry not, it's free).Q: Will there be a multiplayer mode?A: Unfortunately implementing multiplayer support is exceedingly complex. Therefore I am focusing on providing a solid single player experience instead. Q: What types of ships can you build? A: Any ship built with the available modules is valid as long, of course, as the modules do not overlap. You can build ships with moving parts as well as ships consisting of multiple ship parts (which can be controlled individually). Q: How large can the ships be?A: You can add modules to your ship as long as they fit within the editor's boundaries and its 14x14 grid (which can be expanded to 18x18 using the integrity enhancer module). Q: How many module types are there? A: There are currently over 60 module types in the game (not counting visual variations). More modules will be added in the future. If you like, you can suggest your own ideas and if enough players like them, I will be happy to incorporate them in the game.Q: How does the artificial evolution work? A: The artificial evolution works by simulating a huge tournament in which mutated versions of existing ships compete with each other. The most successful ships, i.e. the ships which have dealt most damage to their enemies, proceed to the next round while the losers are eliminated.Q: Yeah, but should I buy it?!A: Are you kidding? Absolutely! ;) If you enjoy being a part of constantly-updated games during their development process, BossConstructor might just be what you've been looking for! Please, do feel free to check out the reviews of other gamers or the forums. Also, do keep in mind that the latest changes in Steam's refund policy actually allow you to return the game should you not enjoy it. 1075eedd30 Title: BossConstructorGenre: Action, Indie, RPG, SimulationDeveloper:Mirko SeithePublisher:Mirko SeitheRelease Date: 24 Oct, 2016 BossConstructor Download Epic Games bossconstructor wiki. boss constructor igg. bossconstructor. boss constructor review. bossconstructor download. boss constructor vs reassembly. bossconstructor guide. bossconstructor cheats Note: I edited this review as I realized that a joking tactic just didn't work.BossConstructor is a birds-eye view ship-to-ship combat game, utilizing pretty decent physics, a proper weight system that affects center-of-gravity and ship performance, and a variety of components for the ships themselves. At the center of the game is the ship-building. While initially limited in your available materials, you can salvage modules from opposing ships, obtain them for completing objectives in levels, or buying them from a gambler station or a module trader. Your first ship is almost certainly going to be rather slap-dash. But as you progress through the game, you discover more modules, and more variants to them all. This is the point where some people just stop playing, as they don't like the RNG aspect. However, that aspect doesn't play too much of a role in the game. Your success and failure both depend on your ship and how you built it, and how you use your ship. I'm not saying it's purely the player's fault, as I myself have been sidelined by a torpedo numerous times, or been rammed to oblivion. Just that maximizing strengths and minimizing weaknesses is key.Rambling about gameplay aside, the game's performance on devices is mixed. On the older HP Notebook Pro that I mostly played this game on, it would run quite well, with occasional freezes that required a force quit via Task Manager. The computer itself had problems running pretty much anything though, including the Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, so it was to be expected. On my Macbook Pro, it runs like a dream. On both it was smooth, with lag only appearing on the old HP when hundreds of ore, modules, enemy ships, and projectiles were flooding the screen.Overall it's an enjoyable game to just play for a while, and experimenting in ship construction in the hangar is fun, as is testing those creations out in the skirmish mode. Whether you wanted to be a stealth ship that seeds the area with mines or a factory that produces suicidal drones equipped with torpedoes, a jack-of-all-trades or a nimble speedster or a hulking tank, you can most certainly be that in this game, provided you spend some time discovering those modules you want for them.I recommend this game despite it's faults.. It took me forever to buy this game, but it finally went on sale. I wish I'd gotten it earlier! Decent tutorial, fun ship building, steam workshop... it's a pretty cool game. Check it out.. Boss Constructor combines a lot of elements from various games and creates a really decent title that I would whole heartedly recommend to everyone. In essense this game is:-part FTL (random level progression and instadeath)-part ship builder (scavenge parts from destroyed ships and attach to yours)-part space trading game (occasional random ore and trader to buy/sell stuff)-part intense 2d battle simulation with Netwonian physicsIt's still in early beta, but already has a very stable build with tons of variety and gameplay. Can't wait for the final release!Check the video review for more info:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBW96MhxJAw. Great game, I've spent countless hours playing and it's still only in early access. the dev is in constant with players through the forums.. BossConstructor is a spaceship building game with a somewhat small selection of pieces to choose from, but it really uses that to its advantage with procedurally evolving ships. The game simulates a starter ship that gains a part and then the next generation does the same and so on, leaving you with very nice, powerful ships to go against at the end. Unfortunately the game offers so many options to play as that it is hard to stay focused on one ship, and I tend to bounce back and forth a lot while playing the game. Here are some ways you can play the game:Generic Tanky Gun ShipRamming ShipTeleporting Torpedo ShipCarrier ShipFleets of smaller ships ShipRock-holding Miner ShipGeneric Multipurpose ShipSuicide Drone Launcher ShipWhile this gives many things to choose from the missions also tend to be repetitive, ESPECIALLY one where your goal is to push rocks all the way to a small science station that attempts to pull them in but fails miserably each time. This leads to the game kind of becoming a rock pushing simulator in space. If it were to get a bit more varied in missions that would be great.Interestingly, the artifical evolution occasionally produces absolutely awful ships that really make you think how something like that even evolved in the first place, much like real life.. I'm not sure about the long term, but for what i've played Boss Constructor is very enjoyable and has many different settings to try with all the different modules to build your ship with. Also, the developper seems to be trusty and serious, as for one year there was at least one update every week, from bug fix to content and balance. I'd say, if you like this kind of game, it's a game for you. If you don't, try it anyway, you may discover something new you like.. GOOD:+ building my own ships in non-explore mode, improvising, trying them out in fun dog fights+ in explore mode: improvising small ships with limited resources. Strong loot motivation to collect modules shot down enemy ships!+ big variety of enemy ships, also a small space station, ship-factory, mine fields. Even automated evolution of enemy ships. (don't know whether this is used in explore mode though)+ custom key binding. And very clever auto-combination of which thruster is fired for which movement direction (can be overriden) no matter how you build your ship. (limited use for assymetric ships though)+ during the last 2 months: new patches keep coming. Developer's response to bugs and feature whishes very impressive.+ meaningful limitations to concentrate on the important parts: a) 2D, not 3D; b) limited maximum ship speed; c) ships get slower pretty fast if thrusters are not fired; d) battle field is not too bigBAD:- for me, nothing. Of course I miss many things, but this is early access, the game is not finished yet. Still fun to play!. As much as I hate it - this game is so close to being a rough diamond - I cannot recommend this game. It drowns in problems. Broken gamepad support, badly designed missions, clunky UI, extremely user-unfriendly editor... You end up fighting the problems to enjoy the game. For me? Problems won. Maybe that's for the best, if short-term problems are anything to go by, long term the good points wouldn't hold either.Shame.. Great game, I've spent countless hours playing and it's still only in early access. the dev is in constant with players through the forums.. This game is very addictive, the fun thing is you get to explore with your own made ship, with a building system that is easy enough for anyone to get into this amazing game. you build your ship, collect parts, raid infected sectors, make friends to trade with/upgrade stuff/sell stuff. finish the whole sector, warp to a bigger one! so the game goes on.I am actually looking for more games like this.. this game is a GEM! Patch 152: More achievements: - Added around 20 more achievements to the game. Looking forward to see how many players will beat the exploration mode on impossible difficulty. :) If you find an achievement to be unachievable/non-functional for some reason, please let me know.- Fixed a bug preventing you from editing AI ships.- Fixed module stats not being correctly updated after an attribute is applied.. Free Bonus DLC 2 adds the Bussard Ramjet and more!: The free bonus DLC 2, which consists of the patches 195-198, adds a new module and advanced galaxy customization to the game!Bussard Ramjet. Patch 154: Steam Workshop Support! :D: - You can now upload your ships to the Steam Workshop by simply pressing a button in the ship editor. After a ship is uploaded you can change its preview image, description in the 'your workshop' section on Steam.- You can browse other players' ships and subscribe to them. After subscribing and restarting the game, the ships should appear in the Steam Workshop section (6th icon on the filter bar) in your hangar.- Yay! :)- There are probably still tons of bugs. Please let me know if you experience any difficulties. Otherwise, give it a go and share your favorite designs!. Patch 140: Exploration Mode Improvements: - Added transmissions and actual quest texts from the local factions. - Lvl 2 faction standing now reveals all faction stars. Lvl 6 opens all faction jump gates. Lvl 4/8 gives you 10%/25% discount in the shop. - Updated the help texts, the tutorial and more. - Improved the sector tooltips in the exploration mode. - Streamlined the mission goal effects: The primary objective unlocks adjacent sectors, the secondary objective improves your faction spending.- Fixed crashes caused by a) RNG, b) trails, c) automatic ship exporting, d) joints.. Patch 135: Research Tree Update.: - In order to reduce confusion, the faction count will be reduced to 8 (when starting new exploration games) and each faction will correspond to one research branch. This is reflected by the new colors in the research screen.- Cleaned up and rearranged the game modes on the start screen. The exploration mode will eventually turn into the story mode as I add more story features. I'll also add a bonus endless mode in which you have to survive against waves of enemies at some point. - Rearranged some items in the research tree. - Improved the missile targeting. They should now prioritize enemies more when in range and less when out of range.- You can no longer accidentally deselect all modules while shift-clicking. - Decoration modules are no longer shown in the tech lab screen.. Beta Branch and Patch 179: Beta branch
